Bagdad
Bagdad flowers are light blue with yellow anthers tipped in blue. The stellate (star) shaped flowers grow to an 8 inch diameter. A sweet fragrance is emitted in mid-morning to attract pollinators. Green leaves have many purple to red splashes on the 10-12 inch pads. It is also viviparous - grows new plants on the leaf. Plants with this trait are more tolerant of cooler temperatures.

Carla’s Sonshine
No, the name is not misspelled. The hybridizer, Florida Aquatic Nursery, gave the naming rights for this water lily to the International Water Lilies and Water Gardening Society as a fund raiser prior to its release in 2004. The highest bidder was Greg Witstock whose wife, Carla, named the new water lily for her sons. Carla's Sonshine, in addition to the unique name, has deep yellow petals and is the only viviparous yellow water lily on the market. It is compact meaning the leaves have short stems keeping them close to the flowers. The leaves are heavily mottled .

True to its name the flowers blush when first opened then the pink tips on the petals turn white like the rest of the flower. The stellate flowers reach 5-7 inches in diameter and are held high above the water. The pads are green with burgundy splashes and spreads 4-6 feet. Islamorada
Islamorada water lily is named for the Florida Key Islamorada meaning purple isle. Islamorada water lily is purple with white spots and darker purple centers. The star shaped bloom grows to 4-6 inches in diameter and emits a fragrance mid-morning. As a viviparous plant it is more cold tolerant than non-viviparous plants. The pads are olive green and spread 3-5 feet. A unique plant with the white spots!

Midnight Serenade
Midnight Serenade is similar to Midnight except the flowers are purple and the stellate flowers become platter shaped. The pads on this plant are green with maroon mottling and spread 4-6 feet. This plant received the 2015 Best New Tropical Water Lily award.

St. Louis Gold
The whole flower is deep yellow and stellate. It tends to open later in the day than other water lilies but it also stays open later in the day. The pads are bronze with small purple splashes then turn to olive green and spread 4-5 feet. Grow in full sun.
