Star of Zanzibar

  Star of Zanzibar is a vigorous bloomer.  The star shaped- dark blue-flowers emit a strong fragerance in the morning.  The green pads with maroon markings are arranged in a compact circle even when the plant reaches its flull size of five to six feet. If you are looking for cover for koi or to reduce algae, you will want Star of Zanzibar in your pond.  A This water lily received the Banksian Medal given by the Royal Hulticultural Society at the International Water Lily and Water Gardening Society in 2000.
