Carla’s Sonshine

No, the name is not misspelled. The hybridizer, Florida Aquatic Nursery, gave the naming rights for this water lily to the International Water Lilies and Water Gardening Society as a fund raiser prior to its release in 2004. The highest bidder was Greg Witstock whose wife, Carla, named the new water lily for her sons. Carla's Sonshine, in addition to the unique name, has deep yellow petals and is the only viviparous yellow water lily on the market. It is compact meaning the leaves have short stems keeping them close to the flowers. The leaves are heavily mottled .  In stock and available April 25, 2024

Star of Zanzibar

  Star of Zanzibar is a vigorous bloomer.  The star shaped- dark blue-flowers emit a strong fragerance in the morning.  The green pads with maroon markings are arranged in a compact circle even when the plant reaches its flull size of five to six feet. If you are looking for cover for koi or to reduce algae, you will want Star of Zanzibar in your pond.  A This water lily received the Banksian Medal given by the Royal Hulticultural Society at the International Water Lily and Water Gardening Society in 2000. Ultra Violet

Ultra Violet has the darkest violet blooms on the market with 70 petals contributing to this beauty.  The pads are maroon with lighter splashes of red.  Medium size.  Named Best New Water Lily Hybrid Overall in 2008.
