Bagdad flowers are light blue with yellow anthers tipped in blue. The stellate (star) shaped flowers grow to an 8 inch diameter. A sweet fragrance is emitted in mid-morning to attract pollinators. Green leaves have many purple to red splashes on the 10-12 inch pads. It is also viviparous – grows new plants on the leaf. Plants with this trait are more tolerant of cooler temperatures.
