Carla’s husband bid and won the right to name this hybrid at the International Water Lily and Water Gardening Symposium . Carla’s Sonshine honors their sons. The bright yellow flowers have yellow centers. Many flowers are produced and it is viviparous (new plants grow on the leaf) and is more cold resistant than other non-viviparous water lilies. The cup like blooms give off a sweet fragrance in the morning hours when bees are actively searching for nectar. The cup shaped flowers are about 5-6 inches in diameter. The leaves are green with red splashes and spread 4-6 ft.
