It has green and black bamboo like stems growing 24-30 inches tall if the pot is big enough. Grows well in sun to part shade with moist soil and no water over the crown. Zones 4-11.

Avalanche
This water lily might be just what you want in the heat of summer. The flowers appear icy white with light blue tips. The green pads have subtle maroon mottling and a spread of over 6 feet. Grow in full sun. It was named Best New Water Lily and Best New Tropical Water Lily in 2006.

Myriophyllum aquaticum
You may recognize this very useful plant as Parrots Feather. It grows floating on the water and anchored in a pot. It softens hard edges on a water fall or the edge of the pond. The feathery leaves may be easily trimmed off if the plant looks scraggly but needs very little maintenance. This plant will also provide shade for fish and reduce algae growth.Zones 6-11.

Also known as water fern. It is a native Florida fern and will grow to a height of 10 feet thus suggesting an appropriate home would be in a large pond. Plant it in semi shade to maintain a dark green color and in moist soil or in water with 3 inches over the crown. Zones 6-11.
